Richard JUDD Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Richard Judd, 62, of Newport News, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, at home surrounded by family.
Mr. Judd is a retired Naval veteran of 26 years service, which included serving aboard the submarines USS Skate, USS Patrick Henry, USS Nathanael Green, and USS Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joanne Judd; two daughters, Jessica Judd of New York, N.Y., and Jennifer Judd of Newport News; two sons, Jason Judd of Newport News, and Jeff Judd and his wife, Ashley of Newport News; one grandchild, Caleb Lawson; mother, Jeanette Judd of Nazareth, Pa.; two sisters, Sue Monek of North Hampton, Pa., and Leona Houston of Nazareth, Pa.; one brother, Bruce Judd and his wife, Steph of Nazareth, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Peninsula Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Immediately following, burial will take place at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paschold and Helen of Heartland Hospice, for their excellent care.

To the Judd family, Rich and I went into the Navy together on Oct.17th 1966 and we also went to submarine school together in New London,Conn in 1967 and became great friends. Great guy, sorry for your loss.

Chief Judd will be added to our Eternal Patrol Roster where he will be remembered at each reunion of the USS Nathanael Greene.
