Rose was an inspiration to work with. She always took time to say hi when she passed by my office and always used my name in her greeting. Any day I saw her was just a little bit better.

Ellen, Joel and Jerry:

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of your mother's passing. She was one of those McAvoy family friends who always held an extra special place in my heart not only because of her warmth and humor, but because of her loyalty to those for whom she cared. She was a steadfast friend to our family, and especially to my mother, beginning when we became neighbors so long ago on St. Ives Circle and over the years. When I last saw her in January, she brought the same smile to my face that she has always brought and that is how I choose to remember her - with a lovely smile and a lovely heart. I know that my sisters share my affection and sentiment - your mom was special to all of us. I feel honored and blessed to have had her as a constant in my family's life over the years - she was a treasure. And, while I think the world is a little less warm without her presence here, I will take comfort in knowing my life is richer for having had her as a part of it.

It was no secret how very much she loved all of you and how proud she was of each of you. I hope that you find goodness and grace in her passing and in the love she had for you.

Best,
Lisa McAvoy
