Irving Stewart Obituary

TOANO - Irving M. Stewart, 74, of Toano, Va., died Monday, April 11, 2005. He retired from NASA as an aircraft mechanic supervisor. Irving was a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church where he actively served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maxine Stewart; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and Raymond Edwards of Fredericksburg; a son and his wife, Gregory M. and Shannon Stewart of Meridian, Miss.; brother and his wife, Clarence and Pat Stewart of Lanexa; seven grandchildren, Christina Leiden, Ashley West, Nick West, Jeff West, Victoria Stewart, Tanner Stewart and Brayden Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Carleigh, Sydney and Paul Leiden. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church, Lanexa, Va. Interment will be in church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 15810 Liberty Church Road, Lanexa, VA 23089.
