LANEXA - Andrew Isaiah "Mike" Otey, 80, died Saturday, June 15, 2002. A lifelong resident of Lanexa, he was a member of Smith Memorial Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired from Warwick Air Conditioning after 40 plus years as a master plumber. Mike was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Hamuel and Carrie Lee Otey; his sisters, Alyse Otey and Kay Johnson; his brothers, Sterling and Meredith Otey and his granddaughter, Tammy Clayton. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Otey; four daughters, Sandy Oertli, Angie Rogers, Elaine Ferguson and Debbie Sickafoose; one son, Dennis Otey; one sister, Orean Higgs; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike's greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family. The family's caravan of campers on trips to the mountains was the most fun. He also loved to dance. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, June 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home in West Point.
