Happy birthday

December 16, 2010

Met through museum business. A mutual liking ensued.
A friendshil then mainly via correspondance.
The grimmest of news, late as it came, still brutal to learn. Kicked in the gut; stopped in my tracks.

Those regular exchanges now ended, a harsh vacuum instead.

And Clare, I can't abide the harshness of a loss such as yours. Beyond all imagining.
I liked you, you know, from the git-go. As kiddoes go, I can't say I've ever met many of your singular stature and special calibre.
My shoulder is at a distance but its always yours to lean on.

Anneliese, In the short time I knew you, you became a good friend. I will never forget those Wednesdays when you would come to call the tour for the White House, you always told me hello and shot the breeze for what little time you had before you had to go give it. I'll miss you

Sis, Clare and Pino, You are in our hearts and prayers. At a loss for words, imagine that. This is a tough time for everyone, our love for each other will keep us all strong and see us through. We know our moms will be with her and comfort each other. We are so very sorry that we can not be with you at this time but we are in each others hearts always. My little cuz will always be the Queen of the Ya-Ya dog club forever. We know you guys have been through a lot and she may have lost her fight but she won the battle. She is in heaven.

I will miss Anneliese very much. We became fast friends when we both worked the desk this summer at the MOC. She talked endlessly about her pride for her daughter, Clare, her love for Brian and the support of her parents and family. I will never forget her remarkable attitude, her strength in fighting her illness, and her sense of humor.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Anneliese a couple of times. She was a friend of my daughter, and I want you to know she was a beautiful lady inside and out. I will always remember how she huged me the first time we met. She is truly God's angel.

Sis, Big Brother and Clare.
You are my family and in my prayers constantly. Memories of all that we have together and have shared will help us realize that no matter the distance, we are all still right here in each others hearts. No one can ever take those things nor any of us from each other.... Love you !!!

Dear Brian ~
I am so sorry for your loss. You and Annelise made such a great couple. Her eyes sparkled when she was with you. Even though I didn't get the chance to be around too often I definitely got a strong sense of how much you meant to Anneliese. She shared with me just last week how wonderful it was to be home with you and have you close to her. I hope you find the strength needed to walk this path of grief - you have our love, prayers and support.

With a heavy heart -
Mary

Dearest Pino, Pattie and Clare ~
I am overwhelmed with sadness for the pain you are enduring. My prayer is that you will find ways to hold on to the memories - they are the precious gifts of the heart. These memories and whispers will help create a sense of inner peace...a closeness. I pray that you will remember that everyday that passes is not one more day further away from Anneliese but instead one more day that you are closer to meeting her again. And finally, I pray that one day you will be able to remember with laughter, and not just with tears. May God give you the strength needed for this journey.

I love you with all my heart,
Mary and Glenn

My heart is heavy and a piece of it is missing. That piece is soaring on the tip of Anneliese new wings. We were alike in so many ways and shared so much that I will always have such beautiful memories. May God bless and be with each of you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
With much love,
Aunt Ruth

It is beyond comprehension that someone as vibrant as Anneliese could be taken away so early in life. I was so inspired by the mannner in which she handled her illness. She was more concerned about cheering on others than by being consoled herself. Anneliese made her mark on her MOC family and we are all the better for having had her cross our path. Our prayers and thoughts are with Clare, Brian, her family and friends.
