Aubrey THOMAS Obituary
Born in Mathews, Va., he had been a Peninsula resident since 1982. He worked most of his life as a commercial fisherman.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Evangeline Thomas.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Murphy and husband, John, of Newport News; three sisters, Miriam Callis and husband, Ernest,
of Mathews, Va., Jenille Rowe of Achilles, Va., and Iva Belvin of Gloucester Point, Va.; a granddaughter, Kara Murphy, of Newport News; a special nephew, Melvin Callis of Mathews County, Va., and a host of extended family and friends.
All services will be private at a later date.

I met Mr. Thomas in 2007 when he came to live at Cedar Hill Apartments and loved having him as a resident. Every month he would come into my office and tell me stories of his life as a fisherman and his love for his Grand daughter Kara. I'm so thankful that I was able to visit with him and have lunch together on Saturday before his passing. He will be sadly missed by all.

Brenda, so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. we all thought alot of him. our prayers and thoughts are with you.

I was so sad to hear about Aubrey passing away. I met him in 1958, my brother introduced us. I also met my husband. He and Aubrey were good friends.
I haven't seen him in years, but often thought of him.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you during these difficult days you face.
Remember he is just out of sight but not your heart.
