Barbara Koval Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Barbara Ann Koval, age 66, died at her home Nov. 15, 2009, surrounded by family.
Barbara was a native of Pennsylvania and retired from International Union Operating Engineer Local #17, as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Hamburg, N.Y. She was an avid Buffalo Bills football fan, enjoyed crocheting for her grandchildren and nieces, and working puzzles.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Catherine Koval.
She is survived by daughters, Danette Fisher and husband, James, and Bernice Detig; four grandchildren, Krista, Arianna, Darielle and Justin; great-granddaughter, Emily; sisters, Catherine Koval and friend, Mark Bernard, and Sharon Wright and husband, David; two nieces, Abby and Casey.
A service of Christian Mass, officiated by the Rev. James Cowles, will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 17, 2009, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

I'm sorry for your loss. Barbara Ann and I grew up across the street from each other on E. South St., Wilkes-Barre, and went to St. Ann's Academy together. We played all kinds of silly games that were popular at "the time", had sleep-overs, and loads of fun as well as "fights." She came to visit me once and I never heard from her again but I thought of her often.
