Barbara SOUTH Obituary
She was a long standing member of Olivet Baptist Church where she served as a youth and children's Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years and as clerk for 27 plus years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Evelyn White; a stepbrother, James White; and a nephew, Wayne Clements.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, William "Bill" South; her son and his wife, Greg and Beverly Kay South of West Point; three sisters and their husbands, Carolyn and Frank Clements of Delaware, Kay and Ron Duck of Richmond, Cindy and Ken Mazur of Florida; three grandchildren, Alexis, Brooke and Brad; as well as four nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces and six great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Olivet Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Vincent Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to National Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St., Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472, or to Olivet Baptist Church, General Fund, 25338 The Trail, Mattaponi, VA 23110.
