Bassett SAVARESE Obituary
Bassett was a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, Va. She was a 1945 graduate of Matthew Whaley High School, and a 1949 graduate of Elizabeth Buxton Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vincent Savarese; mother and father, Ethel Campbell and Langdon James Gordon; brothers, Nesbit, Allen, Herbert and James Gordon; sisters, Ellen Gooch and Mary Lindsey.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Marylou), James (Lynn), and Joseph (Teresa); a daughter, Theresa Engbersen (Norman); grandchildren, Brandy Savarese, Anne Jones (Michael), Leah Halley (John), Charity Rizor (Dustin), Ashley Engbersen, Emiley Engbersen, Sarah Savarese, Neil Grobluskey, Joshua Savarese and Catie Savarese; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace and Christopher Moulton, and William and Daniel Jones.; sister, Ruth Makelonis.
A special thank you to Doris Hilstrom, for her devotion to our "Nanny."
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Chapel. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to a children's charity of your choice.

Sorry to hear of your loss of our beloved Bassett. She was a mom to many. She mentored my chidren Barbie and Johnny during a difficult time in our lives. I worked with Bassett as a nurse also. I know she loved her own so dearly and my how your family has grown. I can see her in heaven now telling God all about her children and how wonderful they are.
