Kim,
When Sheryl told me of your mom's passing, my heart went out to you. It is always painful to lose someone you love, especially a mother. She had to have been a wonderful, sweet person to have produced a lovely daughter like you. You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

To the Ball family:
I loved your mother like a sister. She was always very pleasant to be around. She would even have me over for lunch when she retired from NASA, for a bologna sandwhich which I loved for her to make. I didn't know Betty was that sick. I knew that she had some problems but she never talked about them when we were together. I could just tell. Well just know that we had some good times together for she was like me - loved to shop. I will miss her and you will too. But I get joy knowing that she is at peace with her Lord and Saviour and just knowing that one day I will meet her again too. Keep your heads up high for she truly loved her family. I pray for you all to get through this. "For this too shall pass."

Sister Ball had a positive impact upon my life. I served with her at the Langley AFB Chapel. I would watch with a smile at how attentive she was to the needs of her mother. She will be sorely missed. Mr. Ball and family, please take care of your hearts for it is there where you will find her until you meet again. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
