Carolyn SADLER Obituary

YORKTOWN - Carolyn Mays Sadler, 68, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. Carolyn was born in Lynchburg, Va., in 1942, to Elsie Grubbs Mays and Wilson C. Mays.
In 1964, she graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She became a resident of York County in Dare, and a member of Providence United Methodist Church in 1966. Carolyn enjoyed 23 years as a school nurse; the last 18 years for Hampton City Schools at Jane H. Bryan Elementary.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wayne C. Sadler of Yorktown; daughter, Lisa M. Sadler of State College, Pa.; son, Alan C. Sadler and wife, Melissa of Yorktown; grandson, Joshua C. Sadler also of Yorktown; and a sister, Suzy Amburn and husband, Roy of Reedville, Va.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Amory Funeral Home in Grafton. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Providence United Methodist Church, in Dare, Va.; Pastor C. Douglas Akers presiding.

I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Carolyn for 22 years at Bryan Elem. She was a wonderful co-worker and an especially good friend. We ate lunch together everyday. She'll always have a special place in my heart. Your family is in my thoughts and my prayers.
