Catherine DANIEL Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Catherine Thonesen Daniel, 84, of Williamsburg, died on Sept. 28, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Newton Daniel; and her daughter, Rebecca Hood.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Jerome Daniel of Midlothian; four grandchildren, David Mann and Christopher Hood of Williamsburg, John Daniel and his wife, Jeanne, of Midlothian, and Laura Willis and her husband, Lincoln, of Clayton, Del., and her daughter-in-law, Jeannine Daniel of Smyrna, Del.
Mrs. Daniel was a native of Williamsburg, the daughter of the late George and Selma Thonesen. She graduated from Matthew Whaley High School and the College of William & Mary. She was a devoted, lifelong member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Her love, devotion. and generosity for her family was paramount, followed closely by her love for her church, community, and college.
A private interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery will precede a memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

Mrs Daniel was such a sweet and lovely woman. I had the pleasure of knowing her when I lived in Virginia, and I will never forget the tremendous amount of love she had for her family and friends.
Rest In Peace, sweet lady.
