Years back, we were BMX racing in Fairfax, and I was introduced to Chris, 1st time he was in 16+ expert with us. He offered me some cantaloupe in between moto's which I have never eaten before. It must have worked for me as I won that day. Chris is etched in my memory forever, and everytime I see or eat cantaloupe I think of Chris. I am saddened to hear he is no longer with us. My condolences to his family, may they find strength in knowing Chris touched so many people in positive ways.

I just found out about Chris passing. I raced against him and his HDK Team in Virginia back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. We weren't close friends, but I had a lot of respect for Chris because of all the cycling battles we fought against each other, which he usually won.
My sympathies to Chris's wife and sons and the rest of his family.

Shari, I was so shocked to hear about Chris. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your sons, Sam and Zack, during this most difficult of times. You and Chris were such a happy couple, and looking at the great photos of your family and Chris that you shared here brought back so many nice memories of times at York High and after graduation when we were all back in Virginia together.
With love and deepest sympathy,

I remember cycling with Chris throughout Hampton Roads, fast, serious, for many hours. I remember the enthusiasm new bike colors for the HDK team brought Chris; bright orange with black lettering for the Paramounts. I remember the scooter to motor-pace with along Jefferson toward Williamsburg. I remember turning on the nite lights and riding through the dark streets.
Blessings

My wife and I worked with Chris for many years in the bicycle industry. He never failed to impress me with the enthusiasm he had for his family - often regaling me with stories of the latest BMX race he had attended with his sons - and for his business, where he seemed to have a never ending drive to succeed. He always had a positive attitude, and used it to overcome any obstacle in his path. A true example for all of us. We'll miss you Chris.

I first met Chris at the skating rink in Newport News waaaaaay back in the day! What a great guy and such a gentleman! I couldn't believe it and was very sad when I heard the news of his death. I often wondered which way the trails had taken him. He always had a go get 'em attitude, a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye. He truly will be missed by everyone that had the honor to know him. God bless his friends, family, wife and kids... God Speed Chris!!!

Kuz and I worked at Bicycle Village together and from the first time I met him I knew we would be brothers for a long time. Many long hours together building bikes, installing networks and working hard! Chris has the capacity to work like no other person I have ever met! Chris had no guage of risk which is what made him such a successful retail businessman. Sheri, Zach and Sam your husband and dad was an amazing person and you should be proud of your Kuzma name. Chris put in the BIG RING and drop some people in heaven for us!

I had the pleasure of meeting Chris at his store just a few days before his passing. As a vendor of Bike Stop I was really excited to work with him and Justin and we hit it off instantly talking only like 2 proud fathers can. Although I only knew Chris for a short while I felt privileged to have spent that hour or so talking with him and could instantly tell what a special person he is. My deepest condolences to his family and friends
