Christie DRUITT Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Christie E. Druitt was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, April 9, 2010, in Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.
She began life on Dec. 28, 1931, in Townsville, N.C., the youngest of eight children born to the late Mary and Luther Evans.
After moving to Williamsburg, Va., she met and married the late Alexander Druitt.
Having accepted Christ into her life at an early age, she became a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church and remained a faithful member, until her health no longer permitted regular attendance. She worked earlier in her career at the Holiday Inn and Princess Anne Lodge and later at the Virginia Gazette. She found and maintained several lifelong friendships at these establishments.
She was a warm and caring person, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Linda Evans, of Bowie, Md.; her sons, Henley Druitt (Katina), of Williamsburg, Va., and Danny Druitt, of Townsville, N.C.; her sisters, Eva Alston and Mary McCoy Henderson, both of Townsville, N.C.; her grandchildren, Adrienne and Rachel Jordan, Tiana and DuRaun Druitt, and Carlos and Marshanna Evans; her great-grandson, Lynell Taylor; her sisters-in-law, her brothers-in-law; her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving and caring friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Roland Cuffee officiating. Internment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 6240 Richmond Road by noon Thursday. Mrs. Druitt may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) in the funeral home.
