Cora PITTMAN Obituary
The daughter of the late Robert W. Sr. and Cora Spratley Berryman, Cora was a native and lifelong resident of Surry County. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Surry, and attended Bacon's Castle Baptist Church. Cora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, Cora is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. "Dick" Pittman Sr.; and a brother, R.W. Berryman Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Robert "Dickie" Pittman Jr., and wife, Donna, and William Kent Pittman and wife, Angie; daughter, Carolyn P. Roaf and husband, Steve; sister, Elizabeth Gwaltney; grandchildren, Landon, Ben, Amanda, Jennifer, Curtis, Christian and Molly; and great-grandchildren, Will and Reese.
A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Bacon's Castle Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Acree officiating. Burial will follow in Bacon's Castle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 p.m., prior to the service in the church. Arrangements are in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
