Dear Betty,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sorry I couldn't be there Tuesday, but I had a previous commitment. I fondly remember the nice dinners we had after the guys retired.
My best to you as you adjust to this loss and move on into this new phase of your life.

Dear Betty and Kathy,
Ellen and I were so sorry to learn of Courtney's passing. We will always remember his friendly smile and gentlemanly manner. I know you will miss him dearly.
I have to be out of town on business tomorrow, but would certainly have been there to celebrate Courtney's life with you.
Take care,

My sincerest sympathy. I hope that the knowlege that so many of your friends, acquaintances, and former Garland Drive neighbors' thoughts are with you at the time might prove to be a source of some comfort and solace.
