Della BURNEY Obituary
She was a native of Vanceboro, N.C., and a Peninsula resident since 1941. Della was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Newport News.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lawrence Burney.
Della is survived by one son, Richard L. Burney Jr., of Williamsburg; one grandchild, Laura B. Simpson and her husband, Christopher of Cary, N.C.; one great-grandchild, Tyler Simpson; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Peggy B. Colie of Kinston, N.C.; and three brothers, Shirley Bryan and Frederick Bryan, both of Vanceboro, N.C., and Zimmy Bryan of Pompano Beach, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, officiated by the Rev. John T. LeGault, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. Richard,
Our family is very sad to hear of Della's passing. She was the first neighbor my wife and I met when we purchased our first home on Timberline Crescent 20 years ago. She was a very special friend to our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Della B Burney. I had to privilege of being her assistant on Saturday 24th for the first time and she was a sweet little lady; May her soul RIP
