Delvin HODGES Obituary

SALUDA - Delvin Hodges, son of the late Dellie and Florence B. Hodges, was born Nov. 22, 1917, and departed this life on April 26, 2010.
Delvin was born in Middlesex County and lived his entire life in Saluda. He attended school in Middlesex and joined Immanuel Baptist Church at an early age. He served faithfully as an usher until illness forced his retirement. Delvin was a kind, hard working person, who loved life, gardening, generously sharing the fruit of his labor with relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Minnie Hodges; two daughters, Mrs. Deborah Beverley (John) of Orange Park, Fla., and Mrs. Joan Anderson (Toney) of Saluda; two sons, John Hodges (Katherlon) of Saluda and Larry Hodges (Audrey) of New York; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six brothers; three sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Saluda. Interment in the church cemetery. The viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
