Derek SCARBOROUGH Obituary

ROUGEMONT - Derek Joseph Scarborough, 20, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Derek was a 2006 graduate of Orange High School and had been working as an Electrician with Atkins Electric Co. since graduation. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing golf, fishing and loved to skateboard and work on cars. He was our beloved son, brother and friend to all, who never met a stranger. We will miss him deeply, but know he has gone to live with the Lord and will continue his journey there.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mildred "Louise" Parker Scarborough and Warren Joseph Scarborough Sr.; maternal grandparents, Ava Lou Kincaid and Lester Eugene Kincaid; and aunt, Theresa Kimball.
He is survived by his parents, Elaine Kincaid Scarborough and Warren Joseph Scarborough Jr. of Rougemont; sisters, Alexis Scarborough and her son, Jackson Folger of Mooresville, Heather Scarborough of Huntersville, and Morgan Scarborough of Rougemont; aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Gary Fenner of Sherrills Ford; aunts, Cecila Fennell and Janice Suis of Windsor; cousins Trent and Craig Fenner of Sherrills Ford and Donna Casper of Windsor, Kerry Fennell of Newport News, and Jennifer Thede of Oregon.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Hurdle Mills, N.C., 7215 Walnut Grove Church Road with the Rev. Stuart Milton officiating. The visitation will be held prior to the funeral from noon to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

Hey yall,
My thoughts are with you and the rest of your family. Me and Derek went to OHS together and graduated in the same class. I met Derek through Sean Perry. After that we were hanging out everyday after school just doing what guys do. He went to Kerr lake with us on our Spring break; Senior year. What a guy. He would crack me up and make everyone laugh around the campfire. Ole Derek was a one-of-A-kind guy and still is! I dont believe I had a chance to talk to you guys at the funeral but, My dearest sympathy for you. Yall, Trully raised a great Son and friend!
