Donnie BELL Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Donnie Mae Bell, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, after a short illness. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., to the late Thomas and Lillie Martin.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bell; two sons, William and John Bell; a grandson, Donald Thompson; and her three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Bell and her husband made Newport News, Va., their home at an early age. She was loved by everyone whose path she crossed.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Lillie M. Thompson of Baltimore, Md., and Helena Bell of Newport News; three sons, Robert Bell (Toyin) of Newark, N.J., James Bell (Elizabeth) and Henry Bell (Patricia) of Newport News, Va.; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at the funeral home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at M.E. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, 2117 Madison Ave. Newport News.
The Bell family is receiving service of comfort at the funeral home.
