Dorothy FINK Obituary

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. - Dorothy Fink, 88, formerly of Williamsburg, Va., and currently of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., passed away at home on May 1, 2010.
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and The College of William and Mary, Dorothy retired in 1986, from the York County Public School System in Virginia, where she was an Elementary Supervisor and the principal of Waller Mill Elementary School. After the death of her husband in 2003, Dorothy lived abroad, where she was associated with Quality Schools International in Belarus, Turkmenistan, and Slovakia.
A member of Duck United Methodist Church on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Dorothy served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Library of Dare, Pasquotank, and Currituck counties, and was a member of the Pea Island National Fish and Wildlife Refuge.
Included among surviving family members are Sali Owen of Arizona and Washington; Lori Spangler of California and Minnesota; Joan Fink of Pennsylvania; Doug Fink of Pennsylvania; and Diane Loftus of Pennsylvania.
A native of Massachusetts, Dorothy will be buried beside her husband in Attleboro Falls, Mass., where she was born in 1921, and lived until she graduated from high school. Prior to burial, a memorial service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held in the Central Congregational Church of Attleboro Falls, which she and her family attended and where she was married to Allen Q. Fink on August 10, 1946. While plans for these services are incomplete, those who wish to attend may contact Jean Lowe at [email protected] for details regarding date and time.
