Duane Seward Obituary
He was born to the late Lieutenant Commander (USN) Jack and Hildegard Seward on Sept. 29, 1926, in San Diego, Calif. At age 17, he joined the Navy and served three years. He then joined his parents in Newport News where he met his wife, Nancy Jennings, was recalled to service during the Korean War, and then went to work for the telephone company from which he retired after 36 years of service.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories, his wife of more than 60 years, Nancy Seward; son, Michael and his wife, Jan; daughter, Linda Rohler and her husband, Terry; one grandson, Jason Rohler and his wife, Jennifer; and three great-grandsons, Joseph, Michael and Terry Rohler. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Seward and his wife, Dottie.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.
