Earl Forrest Obituary

MATHEWS - Earl Lee Forrest entered into eternity on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
He was born in Newark, N.J., on April 17, 1924. He retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 30 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years, Lucy Forrest; one nephew, James Forrest; two nieces, Inez Gwynn (Harry), and Rachel Frye (Thomas); one sister-in-law, Margaret Clark; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Zion Baptist Church, Cardinal. Burial will be in Poplar Wood Cemetery, Cardinal. Viewing will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home. Arrangements by Forrest Bros. Funeral Home, Hudgins. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Dear Miss Lucy, So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband you two were truly a great couple. I can see the two of you now coming to the laundry to pick up your clothes. Even though I left the laundry so many people are still fresh in my mind and you and Mr. Forrest are one of them. Stay strong and remember God will take care of you Miss Lucy. Love Loretta your laundry girl.
