Eddie HYLER Obituary

HAMPTON - Eddie "Big Eddie" Cornell Hyler, 52, passed away, Nov. 20, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Danville, Va., and had been a resident of Hampton for 34 years.
Mr. Hyler had been a cab driver for the past five years and prior to that, self-employed home improvement contractor. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hyler, and mother, Kathryn Hockett.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Beaver; daughters, Cori and Leslie Mott; stepsons, Bruce Osborn, Steven and Eric Beaver; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Darnese, Diane and Jeanene; and a brother, Charles.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. Immediately following, a time of visitation will be held at his daughters residence. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

You will be so dearly missed we shared a lot of special times, good and bad. We always understood each other and were alike in a lot of ways. I am glad you are not suffering anymore but I will miss our talks. I am sure you are surrounded by lots of beautiful angels and all your pain has gone away. I love you and will see you someday. Love your sissy Jeanene
