Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at The Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, celebrated by the Rev. Esteban DeLeon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Oceanfront Chapel, 1801 Baltic Avenue, Virginia Beach. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Ed Holman as I had met him when his son, Marcus and wife Karen lived next door to me on Lakewood Circle. He was truly a gentle and kind person and he was always there helping Marcus & Karen with carpentry projects around the house. I always enjoyed visting with Ed when he was there and I enjoyed having a cold beer with him. I ask the Holman's to allow me to join with them as one of many who will miss Ed Holman.
