Edith Mitchell Obituary

HAMPTON - Edith Wilson Mitchell, 89, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003. A lifelong resident of Hampton, she was a Hampton High School graduate and member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie G. Mitchell. She is survived by her daughters, Anne M. Williams and her husband, Edward, of Hampton and Edna Mitchell Baker of Hampton; son, Robert W. Mitchell and wife, Pat, of Palmyra, Va.; brother, Charles Clifton Wilson Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Hampton; grandchildren, Robin M. Eubank, Suzanne W. McDaniel, Robert W. Mitchell Jr., Charles Gregory Mitchell and Kenneth C. Mitchell; 12 great-grandchildren; and nephews, Charles C. Wilson III of Isle of Wight and H. Todd Wilson of Lynchburg. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Doug Geeting. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall. The family wishes any expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 20 Interstate Corporation Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, 23502 or the Animal Aid Society, 8 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. Arrangements are being provided by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive in Hampton.
