Erethia DARDEN Obituary

HAMPTON - Erethia C. Darden was born May 20, 1920 in Warwick County, Va., to the late Daniel C. and Elizabeth L. Campbell. She went home to Glory on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009.
Erethia was preceded in death by her husband, Booker Darden; three sisters; and seven brothers.
Erethia was educated in Newport News School System. She joined St. James United Methodist Church at an early age and remained there until her passing.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law four nieces; and eight nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at St. James United Methodist Church, 1533 W. Queen St., Hampton, VA. Interment will follow in Pleasant Shade Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, and two hours prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are by O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home. I'll always rememder Ms Darden as one of my Sunday School teacher when I was a yound girl. She was always so sweet. My condolences to her family and the St James church family.

Our prayers go out to Erethia's family, particularly her neices and Joan who cared for her during her illness. Erethia will be sorely missed by all of us and we are all better people for having known such a wonderful person. My family certainly owes much to her for her many years of care and freindship.
