Eric CHARNICK Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Joan E. Charnick; daughters, Erica Anne Marie Charnick and Mary Alexis English; son, Eric V. "Vince" Charnick Jr., all of Ophelia, Va.; parents, Elmer and Patricia Charnick of Glenns, Va.; and three brothers, Wayne Charnick and wife, Robin of Urbanna, Va., David Charnick and wife, Kathy of La., Odell Charnick and wife, Amanda of Shacklefords, Va.
The family will receive friends at Faulkner Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Burgess, Va., on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, the family will receive friends at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Topping, Va., from 10 to 11 am. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Jamaica, Va.
Memorial donations may be made to Northumberland Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1 Reedville, VA 22539.

nannaw and pappaw...i'm so sorry to hear about this tragedy. It breaks my heart so much because he wasn't just "like" a father to me, he was more than a stepfather. Even after him and my mother divorced many years ago, i would visit him with my own children and he would welcome me in with love like i was his own child! Erica, vince and alexis were so blessed to have him for a father. Know that though he may not be here physically, he will always be loved and greatly missed! Valinda selph-wood and family

Eric you will be missed so much. You made such an impact on my life and who I am today. I wasnt your blood son but you were and always will be a great father to me. You raised me a good portion of my life. I know you are up there shining down on all of us watching us grow. We love and miss you Pops!!!!!

Dear Junebug,Trisha, Wayne, David, and Odell, I can't express how very sorry I am to have learned of Eric's passing. I carry many, many memories of him. He could be such a clown as a child! It seemed like troubles just rolled right off his back and he'd keep on smiling and making others smile too! I'm truly at a loss of how to express my sorrow for you all. May you all find comfort in the fact that Eric was very well loved and thought of!

Erica and Vince know that your father lover you more than life itself, all he ever did when we were together was talk about you kids. Even though I married into the family and was considered an outsider, your father and I became good friends over the years and I will miss him very much. He became like a brother to me over the years and his laughter is going to be missed at the family gatherings but know in your hearts that as you grow up that he loved you and both of you were the world to him. I love both of you.

My heartfelt thoughts are with you three during this hard time. I remember having fun conversations with all of you and Eric in the parking lot of Chesapeake Academy.
