Frank TUCKER Obituary

CHARLES CITY - On Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 heaven received an angel as Mr. Frank Eugene Tucker Sr., 79, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family and his loving, devoted wife of 61 years, Mrs. Para Lee Tucker. Frank was a native of Virginia and a resident of Charles City County for over 30 years. In 1993, he retired from Kevcor Contracting as a superintendent. He enjoyed many weekend getaways with his wife to Dover Downs, countless hours working on his many collections, being outdoors, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa L. Warren; father, J.C. Warren; and brothers, Norman Tucker, Leland Tucker and Bill Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Para Lee Tucker; daughter, Linda Tucker of Charles City; son, Frank E. Tucker Jr. (Kathryn) of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Shannon Wilkins (Steve) of Portsmouth, William F. Rowe Jr. (Sandra) of Hampton, Ashley Rodgers (Mark) of Chesapeake, Stephanie Tucker of Norfolk, and Haley Pflanzer of Chesapeake; great-grandchildren, William B. Childress of Williamsburg, Steven Childress Jr. of Portsmouth, and Madison Rowe of Hampton; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Odyssey Healthcare; his nurse, Sara Day, RN; and also to his attending physician, Dr. Tom Tillman, for giving him such loving care and comfort during his illness.
Mr. Tucker will always be remembered for his ability to keep everyone laughing and sharing his countless stories. He touched many lives and will forever be loved and missed. Until we are together again!
Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
