To Karen and the Beatty Family,
I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I met Maxine in 1978 at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, VA. She and I remained best friends. I already miss her so much, but I know that she is better off now. There was nobody like "My Max".

To Maxine's Family: I apologize for my lateness in writing this. Maxine was an acquaintance of mine at the college. I have never known her to be anything less than supportive and optimistic regardless of the circumstances. I didn't see her very often when the new campus opened, as we worked at different sites. I always looked forward to seeing her on "All College Day," where I knew I'd be greeted with a big hug and a smile from her. I will miss Maxine. I'm so sorry for your loss because I know what a large loss it must be. Shar Wolff

To The Beatty Family,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of my "second mom" and "Me-Maw" (as my daughter calls her). The life she lived will forever be internalized in the hearts of so many, but especially mine. Her impact upon my life has made me the woman that I am today. And I will forever be greatful God for allowing me to have a vision of His love through her life. Her memory will always remind me of His faithfulness and mercy towards us. I love you all very much, and thank you for loving me and my daughter just as much as "Me- Maw" loved us.

To the Beatty Family

I have more than 35 years of friendship and sorority sisterhood with "Max". We shared many good times and many storms. She never took the low road, always the high road. If ever there was an individual that could make lemonade from an old sour lemon, it was Maxine. My daughter always viewed her as her aunt and loved her as the same. We will miss her. Much comfort to the family and her many friends. She really has been a true ECSU Viking..

To the Beatty family:
We, the Little family are praying for your strength during this time. We will always remember Ms Beatty, not only from her teaching our sunday school classes when we all were at Ivy Baptist church, but she and my mother were friends. When, my mother passed, Ms. Beatty continued to be there for us, even when we all moved from Virginia. We will forever cherish all memories that we have of her and know that she is resting in the arms of Jesus. We were all blessed by her in every way. We share in your time.

To the family of Dr. Beatty:

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear loved one. My daughter was a student at Thomas Nelson and Dr. Beatty took her under her wings and guided her through some difficult times. My daughter respected and loved her dearly. She learned of her passing on her way home from college and her heart melted with sadness. If it wasn't for Dr. Beatty's guidance, caring way and sincere love, I don't know if she would be on her pathway to success today. I know she is at peace and God is pleased with the love she gave to so many. He's smiling now.

Dear Beatty Family...

Maxine will be greatly missed. She has touched so many. She focused on gifts and talents of people and was a cheerleading for us to grow in these areas. She taught us not to complain but trust, have faith and be thankful. She also reminded us not to "sweat the small stuff." She was an example of who Christ is, and she walked as an ambassdor of the Kingdom of God. God used her for His purpose and plan, and I believe she met it. I find myself reminiscing of the many talks we have had and I continued to be encouraged by her. She has left behind a legacy, and shall never be forgotten. While she may be absent from here, it give us comfort to know that she is present with the Lord. I pray that God will strengthen your family, and that the Holy Spirit comforts you.

Dear Family,

My heart and prayers are with you at your time of loss. I wanted to share a memory of mine. I met your dear sister a few years ago after a church service. I told her maybe I was too old to go back to school. Sis. Beatty said no you are not, just do it. I am now in my second year at Thomas Nelson Community College. She will be missed and remembered a long time.
God Bless!

May the Lord's hand of compassion and love and His guiding light from above, shine upon you and give you strength during this time of sorrow. May you find comfort in knowing that friends and family share in your loss. To the Family of Maxine:
My heart was truly saddened to learn of the passing of Maxine. She was a very dear friend to me for more than 25 years. We shared so many wonderful experiences over the years, especially eating my dirty rice. I will surely miss her. We last visited and prayed with her in June. She was a courageous and valiant warrier. Please know that your family is in our prayers and be comforted with these words, from 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 (NKJV)
"Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
In our Prayers,
