Genevieve WEST Obituary
Jean to her family and friends is survived by sons, Dwight H. West (Suzanne) and Douglas N. West (Debbie); her grandchildren, Robert, Amy, Maile, Brittany, Chelsea and Ethan; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kiana, Brenden, Gavin and Christian; her sister, Pearl DeMucha of Pocatella, Idaho; and brother, Harry VanderPloeg of Branson, Mo. Jean will be sadly missed by her family and YMCA friends.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to the Williamsburg Hospice House, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23188-2743 or the R. F. Wilkinson Family YMCA, 301 Sentara Circle, Williamsburg, VA 23188-5728.

Mrs Gene our Energizer bunny at the Ymca you are still missed and talked about today. Here it is many years later and you popped up in my email and I see I got remarried on your Angel day. I will be celebrating my 5th anniversary on your 14th Angel day. You were the best and you are still so missed! But I know you are happy up in heaven too!

Jean was a special, fun friend at the Y. As the Energizer Bunny and our inspiration she kept us all going. For that and her generous, wonderful and sparkling personality, she will be fondly missed.
We wish her grieving family the peace and comfort of knowing that she is certainly in a better place. May the comfort and peace of the Lord be with all of you.

Jean was an example to all of us (no matter what age!) of how to live with energy and vitality. Thank you God for allowing all of us who knew her briefly or knew her well to be touched by her life. My prayers continue for all of you to be filled with peace until you see her again.

I am so sad to hear about Gene's death...she was a sweet lady and I will miss her terribly at Water Aerobics. She told me many times she was ready to go whenever God called her. Praying for you all
