George HERBERT Obituary
A retired Shipbuilder and Soldier in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mertice Herbert; his daughter, Laura Reed; and son, George W. Herbert IV.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Richard Herbert; his sisters, Joyce Wiggins and Phyllis Woods; his daughters, Mertice Hawkins, Victoria Herbert, Virginia Kabongo, Barbara Herbert , Carol Herbert and Sheila Herbert-Stokes; his sons, Clarence Herbert, Steven Herbert and Alonzo Herbert; and host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011. A celebration of George's life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Chapel.

To Kendra, Virginia and all of his family, although I never met Mr. Herbert personally, I am sure he is leaving behind a strong legacy that will keep his story alive.
I'm truely sorry for the Herbert families lose. My love goes out for them. He was a beautiful man and will be missed.
