Grace SOLES Obituary
Grace was a faithful member of The Church of the Nazarene where she loved her church family, Pastor Dave McKnight's old-fashioned preaching and where she loved to worship the Lord. She spent her days sharing God's Word with everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Bradshaw Soles and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Marvin Soles; a son, Danny Soles and wife, Norma Jean; two daughters, Rochelle Bartlett and husband, Charlie of Newport News and Robin Fletcher and husband, David; five grandchildren, Troy Soles, Jon Michael and Justin Bartlett, and John and Shannon Parlett; eight great-grandchildren and special neighbor and friend, Florence Rainier.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Gwynn's Island Church of the Nazarene with interment at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cobbs Creek, Va.

Little did I know recently, Marvin, Robin & Rochelle, when you were so kind to visit & comfort us when Dad was ill, that all too soon you would be losing your loved one. Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you at this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

Marvin, Rochelle, and Robin we were so saddened today when Mom told us of Gracie's passing. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Dad always spoke so highly of you Marvin he had such respect for you and your work ethics. We have thought of you all so often since Dad's passing it is hard to believe it will be 3 years in May. Rochelle and Robin you were there when Dad was so ill I will never forget that. Please let us know if we can do anything. All of heaven is rejoicing in welcoming Gracie home.

I know her as Miss Gracie through Carroll Lee. When he lost his mother and sister, Miss Gracie was there with kind words, a smile and food. She showed what a true christian should be. She spoiled Carroll Lee at Christmas with a visit, cookies and her special smile. She leaves a real legacy for her family. My sympathy goes to her entire family and especially Danny and Norma Jean who took time some years ago to play Santa and Mrs. Claus to my mother. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr.Soles,Danny,Robin and Ro,you are certainly in our prayers during this time of sorrow and rejoicing.
