Kay and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Doc will be well missed by the neighborhood, especially my Dad. He, as well as my Mother, loved to visit with Doc. He was a great friend and neighor to both of them.

I first moved next door to Doc and Kay 11 years ago. Whenever Doc was outside, he would make comments and pick on me just to get me "stirred up". At first it would irritate me, but I soon found that he was alot like my own "Dad" and didn't pick at you unless he liked you. Doc did alot of things for me that my father couldn't do because he lived so far away. When I became unemployed, we would sit on my porch and talk for hours. He always gave me advice on housing projects and would often fix things for me himself. We would help each other with projects in the yard and he always cut my grass when he knew I was really busy at work and was having a tough time keeping up. Doc was my other "Dad" and I will always cherish the memories that we shared. I will miss him dearly.
Doc and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kay, My prayers are with you and your family during this time - Doc was a very caring and thoughtful person - always a good neighbor.
Ashley - rest in the fact that your Grandfather is with God - no pain or suffering and many years down the road he will be waiting to welcome you to Heaven.
