Helen BOWMAN Obituary

HAMPTON - Helen Bowman, 92, died quietly at home on Jan. 3, 2011.
Helen was a longtime resident of Phoebus, retired honorably from Maida Development, and was a dedicated Veterans Administration volunteer.
She was the remaining child of four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two sons, Edward Thomas of Hampton and William Thomas of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Billy Thomas and Randy Thomas both of Hampton, Kimberly Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla., Tina Huntsinger of Williamsburg, and Rebecca Thomas of Nevada; niece, Evelyn Braxton and her son, John Kitchens of Hampton.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Phoebus United Methodist Church. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Helen and Howard introduced my parents to each other over 55 years ago. I guess you could say she knew me before I was born, she was a wonderful lady. Mom and Dad said they will miss her very much. Alice (Combs Family)

Helen was the warmest sweetiest person i know. She made sure her family was took care of. She would have given her shirt off her back for strangers.I was so glad i got to know her.She will be sadly missed.
