Helen Frost Obituary
She was born in Iredell County, N.C., to the late James Harvey and Naomi Huie Mullis. She and her late husband, Dr. Lawrence Y. Frost moved to Mars Hill after raising their three children in Hampton, Va. Helen was a Mars Hill graduate of 1943 and earned a bachelors degree from Women's College of Greensboro (now UNC-G).
Surviving are her children, Bruce and Cindy Frost, Larry and Susan Frost and Carolyn and Terry Miller; grandchildren, Shawn Yarnes, Kimberly Wade, Loren Bartlett, Lawrence Frost, Stacy Powers, Mathew Miller; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery followed by a meal for family and friends in Mars Hill Baptist Church fellowship Hall prepared by the MHBC Caring Committee. The Frost family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary followed by a funeral service.
Dr. Tommy Justus, Rev. Sue Fitzgerald and Pauline Cheek will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Project, PO Box 218, Mars Hill, NC 28754.
