Our meetings were few but we were so impressed with Helene and her support of our Daughter-in-law ,Sarah, during a difficult period as well as her wedding and childbirth. She reached out to many with her thoughtfulness. Matthew , Mike and family, may your grief be eased by your loving memories. We will keep you in our prayers. May God be with you in this difficult time.

Aunt Helene will be greatly missed by her only niece on the Ekdahl side, Sarah Ekdahl Lapsen, and her only Ekdahl-side nephew, Kevin Ekdahl. Even though we never lived close to one another geographically, I always felt so loved by her in so many ways, especially as Helene was also one of my godmothers. Whether it was the cute birthday cards she unfailingly remembered to send, or her unshakeable belief in me as a person (it was Aunt Helene who first insisted that her bookish little niece should become a lawyer, after all, and that is in fact my profession today!), Aunt Helene extended her love to us over the miles in so many ways. Kevin and I look forward to honoring and celebrating Aunt Helene next week at the memorial service in her memory.
