Hilton GREEN Obituary

HAMPTON - Mr. Hilton Green passed away Sept. 27, 2010. He was born in Albany, Ga., Dec. 25, 1923.
Hilton Served faithfully in the U.S. Army 30 years, and served in combat during WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1973 at Ft. Monroe, Va. Hilton loved the military and continued to consider himself a soldier.
After retirement from the military, he made his home in Hampton, Va. He worked for Hampton City Schools from which he retired after 15 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Retired Armed Forces Club of Hampton, Va.
Hilton was preceded in death by his mother and father, Annie and Theodore Green; two sisters, Rena M. Green and Audrey Jones; four brothers, Theodore, Leroy, Roland, and Earl Green, all of Newark, N.J.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his wife, Joyce L. Green; a daughter, Paula Green; a brother, Wesley Green; five sisters, Fannie M. Jenkins, Lucy Edwards, Dorothy Gray (Milton), Jeannette Oliver (Harvey), and Doretha Brownlee; three grandchildren, Asia, Kasim, and Hilton III; one great-grandson; a stepdaughter, Gail Carrols (Robert); and a stepson, Anthony Hicks; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
A special thanks to the R.A.F.C. and the Extended Care Unit and Medical staff of the VA Hospital in Hampton.
There will be a viewing from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
