My dear Sissy,
Oh how my heart hurts not only for you but for myself. You and Howard accepted me into the family 32 years ago and have always treated me and loved me as one of you. My memories of past years are endless. Howard was such a good man and all though things will never be the same I know that he is at peace and dwelling amongst our Lord! I can't imagine going to sleep and waking up with the Lord. God showed his wonderful grace and mercy by allowing Howard such a peaceful death. Memories of Howard will remain in my heart forever ....I Love You, Your sister-in-law, Karen~

Dear Faye, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Howard was a good man who was always so cheerful and happy. To us he was more than a friend, he was family. We miss his whistling, his humor, his smile, everything. Kelli will miss sitting on the truck tailgate shooting the breeze with her buddy.Howard treated her like one of his own grandkids. We feel very honored to have had Howard as not just our neighbor, but as a true friend. May God comfort you and your family in this most difficult time. We love you. Chris,Sandy,Kelli

Howard was an outstanding athlete and generous and kind person. We had a great time hashing over memories of our high school days at Marion during our 50-th class reunion last summer. As he did at MHS, he brought to our reunion a sense of joy and style as we talked about our shared past good times on the football field and in class. He was a leader.

Your faithfulness makes you trustworthy to God. Only a few men I've had in my life can I honestly say define the word faithfull. Your trustworthiness to God is only as strong as your faithfulness to Him. It is consequently modeled in your faithfulness to your wife, husband, children and fellowman and church. Ethics only skin deep is the same as unfaithfulness. Superficial ethics is synonymous with hypocrisy! I no longer pray for success! I pray for faithfulness! I pray to be like Howard and when I go to be with the Lord I can only hope someone will remember me in the same way I remember Howard - a man that was faithfull!!!

The Elledge Family, My Sympathy and Condolences. The unexpected death is always hard. Both of my parents died that way. There is comfort in not having to watch them suffer and linger. Faye and Family:
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Howard's passing. You and Howard have been constant friends and support since I moved here over thirty years ago. I can still hear him calling Gage and McKinley "Huey and Tinkerbell". I pray for peace and comfort for you in the coming days.

Howard was a person who will always excell in our memories, as he did as a classmate and friend at Marion High.
I heard his former coach say he was the best athlete he had ever coached, but that was Howard in every thing.
My prayers go out to the family and friends, his memory will always be with us.

Hi Faye,
Use to think it was hard to know what to say at a time like this until I heard a message from a particular pastor. The thing to say is that be cause of Christ Jesus, we have hope! This hope is not some type of wish but rather a promise - - A promise of eternal, forever life with our Lord Jesus Christ. This is where Howard is, and this is where you and I will be one day. We are all blessed in that we can bank on that. I love you and please know that I am praying for you and your family as you journey through this time of loss and grief.

Dear Faye and Family,
I'm so sorry about Howard's sudden passing. It's hard to know what to say. I'll certainly miss the good natured joking around. I'll always regret that you and I could never get Howard to say "Amish" properly! It's a sad time now but Howard would want us to be resilient and after some healing, go about our days with confidence and to be of good cheer. He will be missed but never far from our thoughts. I'm glad this "Yankee" got to know Howard Elledge and you know how much I enjoy your hugs. Faye, my heart goes out to you and your family. I'll see you soon.

One of my favorite Uncles that will be dearly missed. I wished we could have lived closer and had more time for all of us to spend together. The one thing I will never forget he taught me was how to REALLY STEAM CRABS! I always enjoyed his stories about the olden days and growing up in Marion, Va. He will truly be missed by our entire family. We love you uncle sonny.
