Irvin Clements Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Irvin Crowder Clements, died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in Gloucester County and was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Lavinia Hall Clements; his brothers and sisters, John, James, Richard, Bet, Minnie, and Bertie; and his son-in-law, Buddy Ewell.
After Mr. Clements retired from the Naval Weapon Station, he worked with his wife and daughter at the Just Sew Craft Shop until their retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen Clements; his children, Barbara Ewell, Billy Clements (Brenda), Dicky Clements (Brenda), and Betty Rhodes (Lynn); his brother, Malcolm Clements; his sister, Myrtle Dawson; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Andrews Funeral Home, on Friday, from 7 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to either Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, P.O. Box 1130, Gloucester, VA 23061, or to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, VA 23061. The family would like to give a special thanks to everyone at Riverside Walter Reed Hospice for their very special care and love that they gave during Mr. Clements illness.

What can you say except "great". PotPot was a great husband,father,grandfather,friend and too many things to name. He treated me growing up like one of the family. My kids grew up knowing him as the wood man for all the things he made with wood. He will be greatly missed.
