Irving DIXON Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Irving Bennett Dixon, 74, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, in Walter Reed Convalescent.
He was a lifelong native of Gloucester and was the son of the late Melvin and Bertha Groome Dixon. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation in 1990 after many years of service and was a member of the Church of God on Woodstock Road in Gloucester.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha L. Dixon; his stepson, Glenn Roy Johnson; nephew, Bruce Brooks; great-niece, Patty Marie Owens; and great-nephew, Shane Fitchett.
The family will receive friends at the Church of God, 3380 Woodstock Road, Gloucester from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the church by Pastor D. L. Wimer. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Dear Bertha... I have thought of you all often. I have missed you guys! Irving is in a much better place now, and you can be relieved he is now pain free! So sorry for your loss.
