Jim, I also worked at JCP in Hampton and have fond memories of knowing you in the 80's. My condolences to you and your family in the loss of your Father. No one loves us like our parents. May you have many wonderful memories of your Dad. I do remember how you also liked old cars and now see this passion likely came from your Dad, as well as other qualities..."a man's man with a soft side". All the best to you.

Nancy:
Pam and I extend our sympathy to you and your family. Jim was a good friend and the street rodding community has lost one of the best. We are so glad that we stopped by your house on June 1st for a visit with you and Jim; that memory will be something that we will never forget. You and your family will be in our prayers. God bless you all.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Saville. He was a man's man and tough as nails. He had a softer side, however, as I can recall Jim sitting under a shade tree watching the birds he had just fed in his feeder at his home. As a car mechanic, he was second to none and Jim would be the one you wanted sitting next to you if you car broke down on a dark, lonely stretch of road. He carried his secondary tools in an old paint bucket can, but could use them like no other. He could go to Spooner's junk yard on Pembroke Avenue, Hampton, with a wheelbarrow and bring enough parts home to build an entire new car in a few days. I guess the Good Lord called Jim home to work on His own Street Rod in Heaven. Rest in peace, Jim. You were the best.
"A heart of gold stopped beating,
Two willing hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
Our hearts still ache in sadness,
and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know."

When we lose a loved one there comes a silence, a sadness, a longing for one more day,one more word, one more touch. We don't understand why our loved ones leave so soon, before even we are ready to say goodbye.
As time goes on we remember not only that loved ones die but that they lived also.
I know that Jim gave you memories to beautiful to forget.
God Bless you and the kids, you will forever be in my prayers

Nancy, Our prayers are with you and the family. Jim has always been a very good man. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. If there is a Rod Run in heaven then we will go togather again. After Jim left Tidewater I took his place on the Virginia NSRA Safety Team so we would have someone in this area. Will keep you in our prayers and will say a prayer for Jim at Mass.
