James EAKES Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - James David Eakes, 42, a lifelong Peninsula resident, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, after a short illness.
A graduate of Old Dominion University with a BS degree in Geo Technical Engineering, he worked as a project engineer with E.C.S., Inc of Williamsburg.
Survivors include his mother, Cynthia H. Lambert of Hampton; two brothers, Brian M. Eakes and his wife, Denise of Elkridge, Md., and Jeffrey W. Eakes of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews, Tyler, Paige, Chad and Emily Eakes and special friend Teresa "Terri" Hart.
Memorials may be in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

I had the good fortune of working with David in the 80's, with Lambert Painting and roomates for a short while in the 90's. He was an honest man, always gave advise based on how he truly felt reguardless of the outcome. I will miss David, aka Brave Dave, and I am proud to call him my friend.
