James HALL Obituary

GLOUCESTER - James Cecil Hall, 78, died Oct. 7, 2010, at his home with loved ones at his side.
Cecil was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Group. He was retired from Chesapeake Corporation. Cecil very much enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a fan of blue grass music. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Thelma L. Hall; daughter, Diane H. Williams and husband, Russell; son, Michael K. Hall; granddaughter, Kathy Rawls and husband, Pete; great-grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathan.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Rita Staul will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Salem United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Shacklefords Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers, especially Darlene, Tamara, Cheri and Pat, who have loved and cared for him and given so much support to his family.

To the Hall family, I was very sorry to hear of Mr. Hall’s passing. I remember him from when I was kid working with him there at Mike’s house. Always had strong guidance and kind words for me. I have always remembered that time spent though short, made a lasting impression on me. One I still carry some 30 years later. He will be missed. Mike if there’s anything I can do please call on me.

I am so sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. I worked with him at the paper mill and and he was a good man and a pleasure to work with. I will continue to keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Family of Cecil. I worked with Cecil for many years at the paper mill. He was a true Christen and a gentleman in the truest meaning of the words. I feel your loss and will include you all in my prayers. It was my pleasure to have know such a gentleman.
