Janice MAHADY Obituary
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Ufa Watts; her brother, James Watts; and her son, Billy.
She is survived by her husband, Carl "Buck" Mahady; her sons, James E. Mahady, Gene Mahady, Robert A. Mahady and Chris Mahady; and her daughters, Diana Mahady Douglas, and Kim Mahady Compton; her 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. David H. Vaught at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janice's memory to the American Diabetes Association, Peninsula Chapter, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Suite 404, Chesapeake, Va. 23340.

Grandma, I miss and love you very much. As you know you will be missed dearly. All the love and acceptance you gave over the years. Accepting me and my sisters as your own grandchildren even though I still did not know I was yours. Thank you for being there for me when I had my first born son and did not have a clue. If ever in doubt of what to do for him I could call you and you had the answer. Not only to be a great grandmother but to help me be the best mother I can. Whether it is a home remedy to fix his knees, teething or to help ease his tummy aches, you were there. Now that you are in heaven you can tell my dad what wonderful grandchildren he has. I am sure as the days pass you will both get to watch us all grow as a family and guide us in the right direction. I love and miss you see you again one day!

To the Mahady family. I am so sorry to about the lost of a wonderful lady. I met Janice thru Gene and she always had a smile on her everytime one of her kids came in the room and she really love her entire family. I will miss her. Now she is another Angel watching over her family and she is no longer in pain. I will miss Janice. I am here for the family if you all need me.

Momma Mahady was my other mother for many years. I can not put into words the love I have for her. She had a very gracious heart and took very good care of my daughter Janice would do anything for anyone. She always took the kids in and would let any stay , thats how she got the name (Momma Mahady) from so many people that were not even related. She will be missed by so many people. I just pray that God will give all of us comfort in knowing that she is in heaven watching over us.
