Jack was a man I did not know very well, but the times I did spend around him were very friendly, talking of memories and the happenings of Buckroe Beach. Jack and his wife bought the house they have lived in from my mother. A few years ago I drove by and Jack was in the yard(my dad used to live across the street so he knew of me somewhat) I stopped the car and we began talking . Jack was a breath of fresh air to talk with ...we sat on the steps talking about the good ol' days of Buckroe, and also his health..I gave him encouragement about his condition, and he spoke of the wisdom of life. I wish I could have known him better. He was a man that was down to earth and just a joy to have the pleasure to conversate with. My sympathy is with the entire family..He will always be with you in heart, mind and spirit..his legacy lives on through each and every one of you..Remember the good times, and know he meant alot to people who's lives he barely touched. My prayers are with you all.God Bless Your Family. Sarah Waters Hall

I will sincerely miss my dearest neighbor. He has been a source of strength and my personal neighborhood watch since moving across the street from he and Miss Jean in 2001. I always felt a sense of security seeing him sitting on his step, sometimes joining him, forever smoking his cigarettes and watching the going-on's in the neighborhood. He had an invaluable repertoire of life stories that he would share with all who listened. He had a true spirit of living life and I was always inspired by his will for working on his property and forever doing something. I will surely miss him, but I have a sense of honor and gratification in having encountered his being.
To the Blevin family, please celebrate his life with your many family memories!
My sincerest condolences to each of you. I will forever keep Jack, Miss Jean and the family in my thoughts and prayers.

Jean, Kathy, Doug, and Vicki,
My heart goes out to you one and all. Jack is finally at peace. Treasure the many, many special memories you have of him; hold them close to your heart, and know that he'll never be further away than the blink of an eye. You took good care of him when his health failed, and showed him how much he was loved by all. My thoughts and prayers remain with you. I'll see you at the service. Love, Kelly
