Danny,
When I think of you, the most fond memory I remember is during a bad snow storm (I was around 10?) they closed school for a week, the snow was to the front porch, we all slept in the living room. Daddy had put up a quilt to block off the back area of the house, to keep the front warm. Man once you crossed under that quilt WOW it was freezing.:) But you gave me a radio for my birthday. I also thank you for being like a second daddy to me in my younger years. Definitely, thank you for letting me groove with you to REAL music. Even when T.J. would spend the night over your house, all he would talk about was the music. Talking about name that tune, you were the master. Whether we hummed or sung a few lyrics, you could name that tune. You will be greatly missed and forever be in my heart. LOVE YOU!!!!!

Uncle Danny,
You were the embodiment of Jessie Dandridge Brown, Sr (the great man that you were named after). I will miss you dearly.

Dear Danny,
I am so glad that we were a family that always told each other “I love you”. We didn’t only say I love you to each other, but we acted upon that love. I remember that last Thursday when I walked into your room, you looked at me and said, “Mama I love you”, and I said “Danny I love you, too". Now you are with the Lord, and He will love you better than anyone else could ever love you.

Another memory I have of you is when you were 15 years old. You were burned over 40 percent of your body. You were a real champion the way you went through all the pain and suffering. I traveled to Richmond by train every day, after working all night to visit you. I thank the Lord for delivering you and allowing you to become an adult that married Renee, and raised two beautiful daughters. He also blessed you with one grandson. You are my firstborn son, and there is a special place in my heart for you. I love you and miss you!

With all my love,
Mama

Danny,
I feel so blessed that God chose me to be one of your sisters. When we were coming up, you and I fought all the time. Of course, we never stayed mad for long. I remember one time we were fighting and I pulled the buttons off your shirt. You paid me to sew them back on. I remember on Saturdays all of us kids would gather in the T.V. room and watch the Saturday morning movie. When the movie was over, we would all clap. Those were the days of simple fun. I am so glad that Mama and Daddy taught us the true value of loving our family. Knowing that no matter how many friends may come and go, we could always lean and depend on our sisters and brothers. You have always been such a loving and caring brother. There were times we got on each other nerves, but we never stopped loving and doing what we could for each other. It seems as though in the last 3 years, we got closer. More than likely it was because you had more free time for me to call and harass you (smile). I miss those phone calls. I am grateful for all our family times that we spent together. One of my favorites was on Mother's Day of 2009. We were trying to sing to Mama the song, "Mama" by Boyz 2 Men. Danny, when I think of you, these and many other wonderful memories come to mind. You know life seems strange without you, but I just thank God for the 54 years that He blessed me with such a wonderful big brother. Let's not forget our Morning Wake Up call--the song, "Buffalo Soldier" (thanks to you). Believe it or not, I truly do thank you because this is another one of those great memories. I'll miss you more than you will ever know, but you will always be in my heart. I know thoughts of you will often race through my mind, just to make me smile. I must not end without telling God thank you again for choosing you to be my brother and taking care of you. I love you Danny Boy. I'm so glad that I told you this often. "No regrets--just happy thoughts". "How 'bout them Cowboys??!!"

Danny,
It's hard to believe that you are gone. There are so many memories. I think the most memorable ones were "Buffalo Soldier" every morning and "Star Trek" every afternoon. Before you left, I told you that I loved you so much, and you said, "Of course, me too." Thanks for being a big brother that I could depend upon and for being there when I needed you. When we were little, you thought it was so cool that you had a song named after you ("Danny Boy"). I miss you so much, but it is a blessing to me to know that you are with Jesus and in no more pain. I love you.

Renee,
My heart goes out to you and your family in your time of grief. Danny taught me many things while working at Peninsula Supply, and our time spent working at Waterfront Lumber together never seemed like work. Danny was always smiling and joking, which made working with him in the mill fun. Danny was kind and always willing to offer a helping hand.
Danny truly will be remembered by me as a kind and patient teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Danny will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Renee,
You and your family have my deepest sympathies. I worked with Danny for thirteen years at Peninsula Supply, half of which I spent in the shop under his tutelage. He was a great teacher and friend.
He loved to laugh and the best memories I have of that place all seem to have his laughter evolved.
He will be surely missed.
