I was just thinking of Joan a couple of days ago when I made her delicious brownies (that just last 5 minutes, as she said!) from one of her "take one egg and crack up" cook books. It brought back a lot of memories with her while I was baking and eating these. Nice to have this guest book to come up again at this time. Thoughts to her family.

Jim and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. As many others have said, we hold many dear memories of her during her Crier days. I have thought of her often through the years, especially when I pull out one of her well-worn cookbooks to make another of our family favorites that originated from these. I have fond memories of eating with you, of parties at the Crier, of holiday get-togethers with the staff. I remember her sense of humor and especially her radiant smile. My mother just died in August of Alzheimer's and I know what a long painful journey that can be. My heart goes out to you and your family. But, just keep those precious memories close and know that there are thousands of people out here who remember Joan and her good works.

I met Joan and Jim 40 years ago when we worked at Langley and then became one of Jim's patients when he retired. Joan was one of those special people that you never forget. Her quick wit and sense of humor made her so much fun to be around. You could tell how much she loved her family by the stories in her cookbooks. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim and all the family.

Dear Dr. McCormick and family was so sorry to hear of Joan's passing she was such a dear lady and always full of cheer and laughter. I know she will be missed by so many loved ones. I always loved to put my feet under her table. As I worked with Dr. Mc for several years I got to know Joan very well we enjoyed visiting very much. I always looked forward to her coming into the office with her smiling face and maybe a joke. What a lovely couple they made. May God be with you and bless you in this time of sorry. Dear Jimmy and family: I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. It was always such a joy to see you and Joan come into the pool at the Wellness Ctr. We thought so much of her and you. We have all commented on what good care you took of her even after you no longer came into the pool but sat on the sidelines watching over her. She was a lovely lady and the love you two shared was more than evident. I know you will be together again.

Our deepest sympathy in your loss of an incredible mother and grandmother. Joan and Jim lived down the street from us in Marlbank Cove for many years, and I always remember the fun we would have playing Bunko together. I am so sad to hear the passing of Mrs. McCormick. I had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful spread she would prepare after we would go caroling back in our high school and college days. These are some of my favorite memories. She made those day seem like a modern day dickens novel. My thougts and prayers go out to Mr. McCormick, all her boys, Cathy and their spouses.
