Johnny Payne is a man I will deeply miss for the rest of my life. He always made the time to make sure the kids of Cherry Acres needs were taken care of. I was luckey to be able to be one of those kids. Living next door to Johnny,I was able to enjoy his love and direction firsthand. Having a father required to be gone alot left a great void. Johnny filled that void. From bringing ice-cream to me after I burned my hand at age 5 to always haveing time for school projects, Johnny always made time. Johnny not only taught me how to be a man but how to be a good man. I will forever be grateful to him. My condolences go out to all of his family.

Johnny Payne was much more than just a neighbor to me growing up in Cherry Acres. He was infact my father when my real dad was offshore fishing for a living. Johnny taught me much about life and about how to be not just a man but how to be a good man. I owe as much to Johnny as I do my own father. He always made time for us kids as he did for his natural children. I will always remember the Sunday afternoon beach parties and the time he went to the store to get ice-cream when I burned my hand when I was 5-yrs old. School projects were never a problem for him to help you with. I will be forever grateful for all he did and forever honored to have been one of his children. Johnny will be greatly missed.
