Leona WILLIS Obituary
Born Jan. 11, 1923 in Radford, Va., Newport News had been her home since 1953. Leona was a member of Newmarket Baptist Church and enjoyed helping others. Family and friends will miss her.
Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Willis and other beloved family members.
She is survived by two daughters, Twyla Gregory of New Market, and Velena Lowery of Newport News; two granddaughters, Yolanda Bass of Hampton, and Amanda Pinard of West Point. She was great-grandmother to five great-grandsons, Joseph, Gabriel, Aaron, Michael, and Noah. She is also survived by her sister, Phala Sivacek of Hampton; and two nieces, Amy Doud of Italy, and Sheri Sivacek of Hampton.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
